Stablecoin Giant Tether Leads Germany's NEURA to a $1.4 Billion Robotics Round
German robotics firm NEURA Robotics has closed a Series C round of up to $1.4 billion, becoming Europe's most-funded humanoid robotics company.
Three key facts
The backer lineup turns heads. The round was led by stablecoin issuer Tether, with participation from Amazon, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Bosch, Schaeffler, and the European Investment Bank. The round puts NEURA at roughly a $7 billion valuation and is described as the largest single round ever for a full-stack robotics company.
The track record and the target. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Metzingen, Germany, NEURA builds humanoids, precision robotic arms, autonomous mobile robots, and service robots. It holds an order backlog of about €1 billion and says it aims to mass-produce 5 million robots by 2030.
How the money gets spent. The capital will scale production to several million units across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and consumer use — with part of it going toward a dedicated network that trains robots on real-world data so they can handle the unpredictability of everyday environments.
WangDou's Take
A company founded in 2019, still slowly climbing toward fulfilling a €1 billion backlog, casually declares "5 million robots by 2030" — how many PowerPoint decks does it take to fill that gap? The most surreal part is the lead investor: Tether, a stablecoin printer, fronting the round for a maker of metal humanoids. Profits squeezed out of the USDT money machine, poured straight into robots — a crossover more cyberpunk than the robots themselves. Let's see it ship a few tens of thousands of units by 2027 before we talk about that 5-million number.
