DXC Wants to Weld Claude Into Banks' and Airlines' Core Systems
DXC, which runs decades-old systems for the world's biggest banks, airlines, and insurers, says it will weld Claude straight into those "can't-run, can't-shut-down" systems.
Three key facts
This is a multi-year global alliance. On June 11, IT-services giant DXC and Anthropic announced that DXC becomes one of the few Global Premier partners in the Claude Partner Network. The two will train tens of thousands of "forward-deployed" engineers, all Claude-certified, whose job is to push the models into the mission-critical systems DXC operates for the world's largest banks, airlines, insurers, manufacturers, and government agencies.
The alliance starts on four fronts. Insurance modernization, refactoring legacy codebases (packaged as "Modernization as a Service"), an always-on cybersecurity subagent, and application maintenance. In plain terms: aimed squarely at the dirtiest, most thankless "ancestral code" nobody in the enterprise wants to touch.
Internal numbers are the sales pitch. DXC says using Claude on its own OASIS software delivery sped things up roughly 10x, with more than 95% of the shipped code generated by Claude and then reviewed by engineers. OASIS only launched this April and already runs across 50-plus customers, with a rollout to DXC's global base coming next.

"95% of the code written by Claude, reviewed by engineers" — DXC pins that on its chest like a medal, but flip it over and it reads: tens of thousands of certified engineers whose day job is now proofreading for an AI. DXC has always lived off headcount outsourcing — one seat, one paycheck — and now it's swapped "selling man-hours" for "selling certified engineers bundled with Claude seats," at a higher price per head. As for why banks and airlines will let an AI touch core systems that make headlines the moment they crash, the answer is dull: those systems are 20- and 30-year-old relics, and the people who understand them are retiring in waves. Cheaper to bet on Claude gnawing through it than to keep paying premium wages for the old masters. The flip side of 10x faster is that nobody truly knows anymore what's written inside those systems.
